There is absolutely nothing better than visiting the farmer’s market and coming home to turn that seasonal produce into something special, and these from scratch baking recipes will help you do just that!

From spring scones and fruit crisps to hearty winter cobblers, if you love baking from scratch with seasonal ingredients, this is your hub for inspiration all year long.

Spring Baking Recipes

Embrace the cool, drizzly days of spring with flaky scones or chewy cookies. We get to start the season with tart rhubarb, sweet strawberries, and lots of fresh herbs before the first of the season’s stone fruits come out of the fields.

Some of my favorite spring bakes include Strawberry Rhubarb Scones or Lemon Lavender Muffins with a side of homemade Lemon Balm Lemonade!

Summer Baking Recipes

You might not think of summer as a time to bake with the higher temps, but there are still plenty of delicious desserts that can be made!

All those ripe summer berries make the most delicious Tayberry Snack Cake, Blackberry Oatmeal Cookies, or Raspberry White Chocolate Blondies.

Or, you may want to turn summer’s freshest stone fruit into Cherry Cobbler or Blackberry Apple Crumble. You truly cannot go wrong!

Winter Baking Recipes

Around the holidays, I love incorporating winter produce, like cranberries, pears, and apples into my bakes, especially with warm spices.

For example, this Pear Crumble is heavenly with a little brown sugar and just enough cinnamon.

Once we enter the new year, I shift into citrus mode for a lighter, brighter flavor profile. Chewy Lemon Blondies or just-sweet-enough Date Walnut Scones are my favorites this time of year.

What is seasonal baking?

Just like it sounds, seasonal baking is all about incorporating seasonal ingredients and flavors. Think farm-to-table or better yet, garden-to-table.

There is something magical about taking a pint of strawberries and making a tender strawberry cake piled high with strawberry whipped cream or pulling together a batch of chewy maple cookies to enjoy during the cozy months of the year.

It’s also a great way to slow down, savor the moment, and create some new memories. Sounds cozy, right? That’s because it is!
