These cranberry white chocolate muffins in a jar make the perfect homemade Christmas gift! The recipe is super easy to put together (even at the last minute…), and bake up moist and tender every time.

Who doesn’t love giving gifts in jars? They look so lovely, and always make me want to start baking immediately!
This cranberry muffin mix is perfect for the holidays with the sweet dried cranberries and creamy white chocolate. I love adding a little orange zest and juice a fresh, aromatic note, which really takes them over the top!
All you need to do is the fill the jars, close them up, and attach a gift tag with the baking instructions. Your recipient will do the rest. It’s truly that simple!
Make sure you get the printable labels! They include the ingredients for the jars, so you can start putting them together right away.

Ingredients
- All purpose flour -Always scoop and level the measuring cup to avoid adding too much.
- Baking powder – This is the leavening agent and is essential!
- Kosher salt
- White sugar – Since both the cranberries and white chocolate chips are so sweet, I like to use a little less sugar than I normally would. This will also help you make your ingredients go a long way.
- Dried cranberries – I recommend getting a big bag from Costco or somewhere else to have plenty on hand.
- White chocolate chips
On the tag, it will tell the baker to add the zest of one orange, oil, sour cream, milk, vanilla, and eggs. They don’t need anything else!

How to Make Cranberry Muffins in a Jar
They truly could not be easier to make – just put everything in a mason jar, and go!

Step 1: Combine the dry ingredients in a quart mason jar. I prefer to use a wide-mouth jar for a little more space at the top, and I add the ingredients in order to see the separation between them.

Step 2: Close the lid, and attach the label with the baking directions with ribbon or twine. Tuck into a holiday gift basket and share!

Storing Suggestions
Once assembled, the muffin jars will keep for up to 1 year.
The baking powder can expire after a while, so I prefer to bake these within 2-3 months, although they can certainly last much longer.

Tips & Variations
- If you want to make these muffins fancier, you can also add chopped walnuts or pecans or a 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.
- Serve them with this spiced cranberry compound butter for an extra dose of holiday flavor!
More Gift in a Jar Ideas
I’ve put together over 60+ homemade Christmas gift ideas, including many, many gifts you can tuck into a jar (my favorite!).
These muffins would make a perfect match for Christmas coffee, which is simply ground coffee infused with some cozy holiday spices.
Or, you could make up jars of homemade hot cocoa mix. My recipe includes 4 different flavor upgrades (like peppermint, espresso, and more) to make them extra special.
I also love gifting this homemade hot caramel drink mix. Think hot cocoa, but without the cocoa and using caramelized sugar instead. It’s easier than it sounds and makes the creamiest, dreamiest holiday drink!

Cranberry White Chocolate Muffin Mix in a Jar
Equipment
- 1 quart mason jar for gifting; I prefer to use wide mouth
- large mixing bowl for baking
- 1 muffin pan
- dough whisk optional, but ideal for mixing thick batters like this
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup melted coconut oil, or vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sour cream, or buttermilk or plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup orange juice, or water
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 orange, zested
Mix-ins
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
Instructions
To Make the Muffin Mix
- Fill a wide-mouth quart jar with all of the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, dried cranberries, and white chocolate. I like to fill them in this order to show the separation.
- Close the jar and attach a tag with ribbon or twine.
To Bake Cranberry White Chocolate Muffins
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a muffin pan with paper muffin liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients thoroughly.1/2 cup melted coconut oil, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1 tbsp vanilla extract, 2 eggs
- Dump in the contents of the jar, then whisk or fold until just incorporated.2 cups all purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 cup white sugar
- Distribute the muffin batter evenly across the muffin liners, then bake for 15 minutes. Then, drop to 350F for 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. (This will help prevent the white chocolate chips from browning too much on top of the muffins while still getting a nice, tall rise.)
- Allow the muffins to cool for about 5 minutes in the pan then transfer the warm muffins to a wire rack to cool all the way.
- Serve and enjoy!
