Tips & Variations
- Instead of garlic powder, try using onion powder for a mellow onion flower.
- Replace the garlic powder with 2-3 cloves of fresh minced garlic for a nice bite.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a tangy twist on this delicious dip.
- For a lower fat, higher protein snack, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream
- If you don’t have fresh chives available, you can add chive flavor with 4 teaspoons of dried chives. Be sure to let the finished dip rest for at least two hours to rehydrate the chives.
- This 6-ingredient sour cream dip recipe is naturally low carb, especially if you use mayonnaise without added sugar.
- If you can’t find chives, use some spring onions instead.

This sour cream chives dip recipe stores very well. Place leftover dip in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
