Equipment
mortar and pestle or spice grinder
half pint mason jar
Ingredients
1cupsugar
1tspground cardamom seedsif using whole cardamoms, approximately 20-25 pods with husks removed
Instructions
Remove the seeds from the cardamom pods and grind into a powder (or use ground cardamom). Add to your mason jar.
Cover with sugar and shake.
Store in a cool, dry place for 2-4 weeks or until the sugar takes on the scent and flavor of cardamom.
When the scent is strong enough, use to sweeten teas, roll cookies, and more!
Notes
The aroma will strengthen the longer the mixture sits.
