Homemade pumpkin pie spice makes the store-bought stuff taste like dust! With the right ingredients and a couple key tips, your pumpkin bread and muffins will taste better than ever.
Combine all ingredients in small dish and stir to combine (or place everything in a jar and shake).
3 Tbs cinnamon, 2 tsp ginger, 2 tsp nutmeg, 1 ½ tsp allspice, 1 ½ tsp cloves

For the very best, boldest, most delicious pumpkin pie spice, do this:
Toast your cinnamon. Heat it in a 300F oven in a baking dish lined with parchment for 5-10 minutes. It will darken and start to smell really fragrant and wonderful. Cool and store in a jar.
Use fresh, high-quality spices. I swear by Burlap and Barrel. The flavor difference is night and day!
