Notes
Each batch makes enough for 1 half-pint jar or two quarter-pint jars.Your scrub will stay fresh for several months. For longer storage, feel free to add about a teaspoon of vitamin E.Always use salt scrubs on warm, wet skin. Salt scrubs are meant to be used as a body scrub and should not be used on your face or sensitive skin. Limit scrubs to 1-2 times per week.
Change up the oil: Instead of sweet almond oil, you can also use coconut oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, or another type of oil suited for your skin type.
Add another scent: This sea salt scrub smells so lovely with vanilla oil, rosemary, mint, sweet orange, and rose. These all go so well with the scent of lavender and are a great way to make a unique combination.
Mix in a butter: After sitting a while, the oil in this recipe may separate slightly from the salt. To resolve this, you can use a solid fat like coconut oil or a butter, like shea butter or mango butter, and whip the salt butter until creamy.
Scale up or down: Need just enough scrub for your next bath? Make a half batch. Want to give your scrub as a gift? Make a double or triple batch! One batch typically makes one half-pint jar.
