@milkglasshomekitchen 🍐 Pear Butter Thumbprint Cookies I've been savoring my caramel pear butter a little bit every day and wanted to do something fun with them! Over the past few days, I've been recipe testing different variations. This version has the perfect amount of chewiness with warm spices in both the dough and the filling. They're gorgeous and I love how the pear butter condenses down even more in the oven. Of course, you can absolutely replace the pear butter with apple butter! Also, every batch of pear butter is a little bit different due to the varieties of pears and the moisture content. I used a rather thick pear butter as you can see from the video (the full recipe is on the blog, btw!) 🍐 Pear Butter Thumbprint Cookies 1 cup unsalted butter, fully softened 1/2 cup white sugar 1 pinch salt  1 tsp cinnamon extract (or vanilla) 1/4 cup pear butter  2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 cup pear butter - to fill the cookies ​Preheat the oven to 350 F and line your baking trays with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy and creamy. Then add the pinch of salt, extract, and ¼ cup pear butter. Continue to mix until fully combined. Add half of the flour and combine. Then add the rest. Continue to mix until fully incorporated and scrape down the sides of the bowl at least once. Roll out the cookie dough into 1-1.5 inch diameter balls and arrange evenly on baking trays. Use your thumb of a rounded teaspoon measuring spoon to make a cavity in each cookie. Fill with approximately 1 tsp pear butter. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown on the edges and lightly set. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the tray. Serve warm and enjoy!
