This easy apple glaze is my go-to topping for any apple bake, and has a special secret ingredient! A little lime juice will add a tart freshness just like Granny Smith apples, and absolutely balance your bakes. Must-try!
Prep Time:3 minutesmins
Ingredients
1cuppowdered sugar
1tbspapple juice or cideror milk
1tsp lime juice
Instructions
Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined. You can adjust the thickness by adding more powdered sugar or a little more liquid as needed, but these ratios consistently work for me.
Allow the baked goods to cool to room temperature before glazing and then let the glaze set before cutting or storing.
Notes
This recipe can easily be halved if you need less. Feel free to add some cinnamon or apple pie spice for extra warmth.I've also made this glaze many, many times with milk instead of cider. I know it sounds weird, but that little bit of lime really tastes like fresh apple and works well on its own. If you do have cider or apple juice around, even better!
