Combine the lavender, vodka, water, and sugar in a glass quart jar. Seal and shake well.
Shake daily for 1 week, then store in cool, dry dark place for 3-4 weeks or until the smell of lavender is stronger than the smell of vodka.
Strain out the lavender buds and store in a clean jar or bottle.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe was adapted in December 2024 to be a little simpler. I also reduced the sugar to just 1 cup. This tends to be enough in my homemade liqueurs, but feel free to taste it and adjust to your preferences. Between 1-2 cups is just right!Feel free to skip the water and use all vodka. For fresh lavender, add twice as much as dried (so 1/2 cup).If you use 100-proof vodka, this recipe has approximately 12.5 ABV. Store lavender liqueur in a cool, dark, dry place for 6-12 months. You can also store it in the fridge to enjoy a cool drink any day.
