This rich and creamy caramel-sweetened milk is an easy alternative to hot cocoa and makes a great holiday gift! Just combine with hot water or milk and enjoy on a cold winter's day.
Combine the ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk (or put everything in a quart jar, seal, and shake vigorously).
Attach a label with twine or ribbon for easy gifting.
To serve
Add 3-4 tbs of the dry mix in a mug with 6-8 ounces of hot water or warm milk. Stir or froth thoroughly and enjoy!

The cornstarch helps thicken the mixture, especially when cooked on the stovetop, but can be powdery if you're just adding hot water. Feel free to skip it, if you prefer!
