Store your homemade sugar scrub in an airtight container, like a glass jar. It should stay fresh for several months. To make it last longer, you can add a teaspoon of vitamin E oil.Be careful storing glass in wet, slippery places, like the shower.
Tips
Add purple food coloring: If you want a purple hue to match the lavender, add a few drops of food coloring until you reach your desired shade of purple.
Make a salt scrub: Replace the sugar with either Epsom salts or sea salt for a homemade salt scrub. Be sure to use fine grain salt to avoid skin irritation.
Use brown sugar: For a darker color and a softer scrub, replace the white sugar with brown sugar and make a lavender brown sugar scrub.
Add more herbs & oil: Dip into your herb garden and clip a sprig of rosemary or a few drops of rosemary oil for an aromatic combination.
Adjust to your liking: Prefer a softer scrub? Add more oil? Like things a little dry? Add less! It's up to you!
