Happy 2022! After reflecting on our blogging successes in 2021, we want to share our top 10 most popular posts for the whole year. We’re a little late to the party writing this in February, but hey, no time like the present!
What is Milk Glass Home?
I created Milk Glass Home in 2020 as I kept finding myself wishing I was still blogging! I started my first blog in 2010 and have a bug for writing and sharing.
Milk Glass Home is a bit of a throwback. We believe in simple, intentional, and sustainable living. Milk Glass Home is a lifestyle blog that helps people learn how to cook from scratch, reduce their carbon footprint, and live according to their values. This means you’ll find tips on natural cleaning products, recipes for pie crust, and self-reflection tools all in one place. We aren’t for everyone, and that’s just fine.

Why Milk Glass?
Milk glass reminds me of visiting my grandparents and older relatives as a child. I love antiques and enjoy finding older items to furnish and decorate my home.
I do this because I enjoy those pieces and because I love using used furniture instead of purchasing new pieces. It keeps waste out of landfills and brings the past right into the present. Plus, it’s typically way cheaper than buying new and adds a lot of character and dimension.
Our Top 10 Posts of 2021
This recipe is an adaptation of my standard egg casserole with an homage to delicious New Mexican green chile. Perfect for a fall breakfast before a hike!
We believe in revamping older furniture to make it work for new styles and preferences. This means we’re often looking for hardware and fixtures to make a 70s hutch have more of a classic farmhouse style. Find our favorite places for farmhouse cabinet hardware!
We snagged a beautiful old possum belly table in need of some love for just $50! We shared the experience of bringing this piece back to life. Lots of farmhouse kitchen lovers come to our site just for this post!
Of all the recipes on my site, THIS ONE is my favorite. Don’t get me wrong…I love all of my recipes. However, this one has turned into a true family recipe. We make it every Thanksgiving now and get requests for it all the time! It’s incredibly simple and you can use a regular graham cracker crust, if you prefer!
Poopourri is overpriced and full of fragrance, something we try not to use in our non-toxic home. You can make your own toilet spray with barely any ingredients…One spray bottle also lasts forever! This is a must-try DIY and is perfect for beginners.
This apple crisp is so special to us that we even served it at our wedding! We make it with Gravenstein apples every year in memory of our wedding. You can substitute any apples you prefer!
I love food preservation. It’s a passion of mine and I could talk about it at length! This guide to buying bulk produce will help you find enough of whatever crop you’d like to put up for the winter.
Did you know you can make your own brown sugar It’s ridiculously simple and uses two ingredients you likely already have on hand. This one is especially popular around Thanksgiving!
When I created my Butterscotch Pudding Pie recipe, I served it in an oatmeal crust to give the flavor and texture of an Oatmeal Scotchie cookie. Now, people come to my site just for the pie crust itself! It’s a perfect vehicle for all kinds of fillings so adapt is however you’d like!
This post is so popular…it gets more than 3 times as many views as any other post on my site! I’m a big believer in making simple swaps in your purchases to support your values. This is easy and important to do with your toilet paper purchases. Conventional toilet paper is environmentally destructive. There are better alternatives out there and this post will guide you through those options!
